Free Zones
Various types of options are now
available in UAE for company establishment either by establishing a corporate
entity in any of the Free Zones which continue to attract a large number of
foreign investors ranging from medium size manufacturing, packaging, assembling
and distribution units to trading offices utilizing such Free Zone facilities
as a hub for their business, serving the Indian Sub-Continent up to the
European Market. The legal available setup within the Free Zone are either in
the form of a Free Zone Establishment with single share capital of Dhs.
1,000,000/- or a branch to the mother company or to an off shore
company.
Licensing procedures for both the entities will depend on the
authority approval after assessing the nature/type of the activity.

Local Companies
A limited liability company is the
choice to most expatriates. For the purpose of setting up a company in Dubai
the nominal required capital is Dhs. 300,000/- while Dhs. 150,000/- in the
other Emirates. The co-operation with a UAE national is mandatory in such
companies.
Representative office or Branch of a foreign
company
A representative office is usually set to promote and carry
out the business of the mother company, it can be established in Dubai upon
applying to the Dubai Economic Development Department after satisfying the
legal requirements.
A branch office can also be established provided the
approval of the Federal Ministry for commerce is obtained.
